Mama’s Choice
Today’s picture was chosen by mama. She loved this one of Eva sitting in her papasan chair, hands clasp and smiling ear to ear.

Tonight we went to Senior Tequila’s for Aunt Stephanie’s birthday. Eva is typically really good at all the Eng family festivities, despite being passed around from aunt to aunt and Jack. Tonight she was a little fussy though and daddy had to keep her moving, to keep her from crying. Aunt Stephanie was happy to hold her, crying or not though.
Eva made her first journey to Woodland Hills Mall today. Sisters needed some new clothes and shoes and we needed to find a birthday present for Aunt Stephanie. She enjoyed being pushed around in the stroller and looking at a new environment for quite a while, but as soon as we took a dinner break in the food court, she decided it was time to be grouchy. Mama got her out of the stroller and held her, which always makes her happy.
Daddy went to a concert with some friends at the Brady Theater tonight, so Gammie came over to help mama out with the three girls. After they played for a couple of hours, Gammie held Eva, while mama got the big girls to sleep.
Our neighbors, the Wassons, brought over this adorable outfit for Eva last week. Daddy had a little photo shoot with her so we could send them a picture of her wearing it today. This is one of the best pictures from the set.
Today, while big sisters were at school and daddy was at the office, mama’s cousin, Jenny came by for a visit. She hadn’t seen Eva in a while and was so happy to see her!
Eva’s favorite thing to do lately is put her hands in her mouth. I call her the Hand Eater. Mama says she’s eating Hand Sandwiches. Either way, she is always jamming her hand into to her mouth to suck on it. Sometimes, she manages to get BOTH fists in her mouth at the same time and sometimes, she even chokes herself. Cousin Katie told us that Adelaide is doing the same thing, so maybe it’s normal behavior at this age.
It’s mind-blowing how big Eva is getting already. Dr. Kimberling (AKA Uncle Matt) reminded us, “It’s a funny thing. You feed them and they get bigger. That’s how it works.” It’s amazing and sad all at the same time. She’s only 3 months old and she’s already getting too big to do some things – like this: she barely fits in daddy’s leg triangle anymore. It’s one of her favorite places to be held. Daddy props one leg up, ankle over knee and it forms and perfect triangle support for Eva to snuggle into.
Mama had a hair appointment today, so daddy stayed home from the office to get some Eva time in. We worked on her DJ skills, coded some websites and even took a walk around the neighborhood in the stroller.
It was Neighbor Night tonight, so mama and daddy went to dinner at Tallgrass Prairie Table with friends from the ‘hood. Noni and Papa came over and stayed with the girls while we were at dinner for a couple of hours.
